Early applicants came from within UP Diliman

The recent CSSP Week celebrations (Linggo ng KAPP) saw the UP Population Institute (UPPI) partnering anew with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for civil registration document applications in the latter’s Serbilis program.

Longer line in the latter part of the day

Midway through the Linggo ng KAPP, on Oct. 24, 2018, the PSA manned a table at the UP Diliman A.S. Alcove and for the whole day, accepted applications for birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as certificate of marriage (CENMAR) and certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR). Staff from the UPPI extended assistance for the day-long activity. Applicants came from within the UP Diliman community. The applicants were advised to claim their documents six days later from October 30 and onwards at the UPPI office.

In view of the Data Privacy Act, additional requirements for requesting persons had to be added, namely authorization letters from requesters when a different person is filing the request. The UPPI was also required to provide an authorization letter for the staff who would be collecting the documents at the PSA.

Ordinarily, an applicant would need to appear in person at the PSA Serbilis Office in the City of Manila and other Serbilis centers. An option which is online application costs more than twice the regular fees.
