Sanny Boy Domingo Afable, a first year MA Demography (MADEM) student, is the latest UPPI Excellence Awardee having garnered the highest GWA of 1.125 for both MADEM and Master of Population Studies (MPOPS) students in the second semester of AY 2019-2020.
Mr. Afable studies full-time while working as a technical consultant at the National Anti-Poverty Commission. Graduating in 2018 as cum laude in BS Statistics, he is a lifetime member of the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society. From 2017-2018, he was Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Collegian.
With the award, Mr. Afable received an equivalent of $100 in cash and a certificate. In the previous semester, the awardee was Karlene Cabaraban, another MADEM student.
