Through the generosity of two UPPI alumni, the UPPI Alumni Academic Excellence Award is established under the Demographic Research and Development Foundation, Inc. The grant is meant to assist graduate students of UPPI (in both M.A. Demography and Master in Population Studies) in purchasing relevant materials for their studies. The Grant is for US $100 and will initially be for the academic period 2014-2017 (or for six (6) semesters). The Grant will commence in the first semester of Academic Year 2014-2015.
The UPPI Alumni Academic Excellence Award will be awarded to the graduate student (in either MADEM or MPOPS program), enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) units in the previous semester, with no incomplete grade and who garnered the highest General Weighted Average (GWA). In case of a tie, the student enrolled in the highest number of units will be awarded the grant. In case of a second tie, the grant will be divided between or among the students with tied GWAs.
The Grant will be awarded to the student within the first month of the start of classes of the following semester. The grantee(s) will have the option to receive the grant in US$ or the peso equivalent based on the prevailing exchange rate at the time of the grant.
