The Institute is pleased to announce that the research proposal entitled, "Studying the understudied phenomenon: Levels, trends, and correlates of under-15 fertility in the Philippines," by Assoc. Prof. Maria Paz N. Marquez and Prof. Maria Midea M. Kabamalan has been selected for the 2024 Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Mentored Papers Program.
The Institute showed full support for the 2024 National Conference on Family Planning, held on November 20-21, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Pasig City. The Scientific and Program Committee for this two-day event was chaired by UPPI Faculty Dr. Grace T. Cruz. UPPI University Researcher Klarriness P. Tanalgo and Assistant Professor Mark Ryan B. Paguirigan also helped in the conference preparations.
The UPPI celebrated six decades of pioneering research in demography and population studies in the Philippines on 8 November 2024, at the Atencio-Libunao Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman. With the theme “From counting people to making people count,” the event commemorated the milestones of the Institute and honored individuals instrumental in its growth.
