The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is collaborating with the University of the Philippines, particularly, with the Population Institute of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy in the Diliman campus, to undertake the country’s first ever National Migration Survey (NMS). This survey arose from the need for baseline data on the mobility of the Philippine population as specified in the Philippine Statistical Development Program for 2011-2017. The data would be valuable for researchers and analysts in the government and other sectors involved in migration studies.
The University of the Philippines Population Institute (UPPI) is undertaking an assessment of the government’s modified conditional cash transfer program (MCCT) for Indigenous Peoples in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).

Dr. Arnisson Andre C. Ortega, Assistant Professor at the UPPI, has published anew in an international journal in February of 2016. This comes after a research article he co-authored, Mega-regions in the Philippines: Accounting for Special Economic Zones and Global-local Dynamics, was published in volume 48 of the journal Cities in November 2015.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is a UN program founded in 1946 and headquartered in New York City that provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. To measure the adequacy of its responses and resources allocation in terms of sector funding, staffing, supplies allocation until delivery, it has instituted the Humanitarian Performance Monitoring (HPM).

The “Spaces in Transition: Mapping Manila’s Peri-Urban Fringe” aims to map the rapid spatial transformation of areas surrounding Metro Manila, or what is called the peri-urban finge. Through the use of mixed research methodologies, the study explored how land growth and development have affected the residents living in these peri-urban areas.
The Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality (YAFS) Study is a series of national surveys on the Filipino youth, conducted since 1982 by UPPI and DRDF. Gathering data from Filipino youth aged 15 to 24, YAFS is one of the primary sources of information on sexual and non-sexual risk behaviors and its determinants in the Philippines.
The Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality (YAFS) Study is a series of cross-sectional surveys on the Filipino youth aged 15-24 conducted since 1982 by the University of the Philippines Population Institute (UPPI) and the Demographic Research and Development Foundation (DRDF). YAFS is the only survey of young people that is representative at the national and regional level.
